Walnut & Oak Solid Wood Wall Clock

Handmade wood wall clock. Features solid walnut and oak wood with natural gloss finish applied. Timekeeping mechanism is American Made and features a sweeping motion to keep the clock nearly silent.

This product is entirely handmade and each piece is unique in character. As a natural product wood is imperfect and that gives it much of its character. No two items will be exactly the same and may have small imperfections.

Creation Process:

I start with locally sourced rough cut walnut and oak lumber and mill it down to general size. The milled lumber is then cut down to size and laid out so they can be arranged in a pleasing layout. Once the layout has been determined the pieces are glued together and given time to dry. After drying they go through an additional milling process to smooth everything out and get the circular shape. Finally the project is ready for some sanding and is sanded through 5 different grades until smooth and ready for finish. Three coats of an all natural shellac are applied with a quick sanding in between each coat. After the final coat has been applied and allowed to dry for a couple days and final buffing is done to smooth to finish just a bit further. At this point the hour/minute indicators are attached and the clock mechanism is installed.
